Micromax vs Lava: Both the Indian brands are all-rounders
Micromax and Lava both are Indian brands which get their handsets manufactured in China. Lava started six years back in 2009 whereas Micromax started much earlier in the year 2000. Since then, there is no looking back for both the mobile giants.

With competitive pricing and high-end features of Micromax mobile phones, the company has established its foothold in the smartphone industry and giving stiff competition to major players like Samsung, Nokia etc.

Lava is also showing steady growth in last 6 years but they are primarily into low-cost feature phones and budget friendly Lava mobile phones to gain popularity among masses and fit in everyone's pocket. They are priced in the range of Rs 3000 to Rs 10,000.

Both the companies have categorized their handsets based on the price range. For instance, for low to medium ranged Micromax mobiles price list, they come under Bolt series but their Canvas, Knight, Yu brand refers to higher range handsets. Similarly, Lava has Flair series for low-cost phones and Iris and Pixel series for medium range handsets.

Branding and Promotion: Micromax has recently revamped its logo and roped in Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador to increase its brand value and attract the global customers. They are launching lot of marketing campaigns and spending heavily on TV ads and print media.

Whereas Lava has taken MS Dhoni as their brand ambassador to establish its identity as the most reliable mobile brand in the industry. It has also been spending extravagantly on television commercials, event sponsorships as well as below the line marketing strategies which includes sign boards and in-store promotional schemes.

Customer Service: Both the brands offer great quality handsets to the consumers and provide good customer support and after-sales service.

Models: Both these Indian brands offer huge variety of devices in all price categories. Unlike Lava, Micromax provides wider range of handsets in the price range above 10K with high-end specifications like fingerprint sensor, high RAM, good camera.

Be it camera, processor configuration, sound quality, internal storage, battery, both Micromax and Lava emerge as all-rounders and worth every penny spent.

Growth: Micromax has higher sales as compared to Lava as it had already established its foothold in the budget smartphone market even before the entry of Lava phones. Though both of them are now investing huge amount in crores to increase their capacity by setting up mobile manufacturing plant in India under "Make in India" initiative.

Price: Both of them are aggressively priced to compete with the likes of other Chinese mobile manufacturers like Xiaomi, Leeco, Coolpad, to name a few. The user can compare the price list of Lava mobiles in India and choose among its various models like Lava Iris X8, Fuel 10, X1 Grand etc.
