Google marks 22nd day of FIFA World Cup 2018 with doodle depicting the football culture of semi-finalists Belgium and France
The internet search engine giant Google has marked the 22nd day of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with another doodle depicting the football cultures of the two countries who are going to play in the first semi-final today.

The doodle depicts the football cultures of Belgium and France. Today's featured artists are Sam Vanallemeersch of Belgium and Helene Leroux of France.

Semi-final fixtures are as follows:

Tuesday, 10 July, France V/s Belgium at St Petersburg Stadium

Wednesday, 11 July, Croatia V/s England at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Google's website writes that in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, players from the men's national teams of 32 countries are competing for the top rank across 12 venues in 11 cities around the country. And, with a total of 64 matches along with plenty of GOOOALS!, the games will culminate at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on July 15.

The website adds that this year's doodle series celebrates the rich cultures and talents of all the 32 participating countries by featuring guest artists hailing from each nation! Tune in to catch all 32 doodles throughout the games, each illustrating the artist's interpretation.

The official mascot for the tournament is Zabivaka — an anthropomorphic wolf dressed in the colors of the Russian national team – whose name is derived from the Russian word meaning "to score". The official back-story of the mascot states that he is an aspiring football player who is "charming, confident and social".
